Sometimes it can be scary how fast time moves. Yesterday we celebrated the beginning of 2019 with champagne and noisemakers, and today we opened our eyes, shocked to see that it is already time to start making plans for the holidays! We hate to be the one to warn you, but Halloween is just weeks away. Are you ready? In Lake Tahoe and the surrounding areas, we are definitely ready for the changing season. There’s always something special about the lake in the fall, and when it’s time to start planning a getaway here, this guide to upcoming events will help you choose your Lake Tahoe fall dates!

The Haunting at the West Shore Café

This exciting event is located a little west of North Lake Tahoe, but the 30-minute drive is definitely worth the time! Held on October 24th at 6PM and offering a hauntingly good time, participants will kick off the dinner with a haunted chairlift ride before enjoying a monster meal filled with ghoulish delights and spooktacular cocktails; the Swamp Juice drink promises to be your new favorite!

Truckee Halloween Parade, Downtown Truckee

Everyone loves a parade, and if you’re traveling with the wee goblins and ghouls that make your life have meaning, you NEED to view this one! Your kids can be the star of the show as they become a part of the parade, dressed in their Halloween finest on October 25th. Starting at the Truckee Train Station at 6 PM, local businesses will be passing out candy to the monsters, princesses, GI Joes, and butterflies as they run safely through the streets of Truckee.

15th Annual Passport to Dining

Held on November 7th from 6PM to 9PM, this charitable event has everything from wine tastings to raffles to silent auctions. When you’re looking for an adult evening during this Lake Tahoe fall (guests must be over 21 to attend), this is the place to be. Proceeds benefit the North Tahoe Business Association, ensuring our piece of paradise will continue to offer the excitement and fun it has for years.

Back Country Film Festival

Movies, drinks, food, and fun—can an event get any better? This celebration of the human experience will be held November 16th from 6PM through 10PM, and if you miss it, sure, your life will go on as planned, but you might be a little sad that you missed the fabulous movies being shown on this chilly November night!
