As you tear another page off your calendar, you may be realizing that it has been more than a little while since you and your family has shared a great adventure together. There is a variety of reasons this could have happened, but only way to alleviate the situation; that is, of course, by starting to make your plans today! If your plans include a summer or fall journey to North Lake Tahoe, we would like to be the first to welcome you. Our lakeside town is an all-seasons vacation destination, and both of those choices will give you a seasonal vacation experience you will never forget. However you spend your days here (this guide will give you lots of ideas!), spending your nights in our Tahoe Signature Properties seasonal sanctuaries promises to make this getaway one you will never want to end! Here is our North Lake Tahoe guide!
Rest, Relax, and Recharge in Style
All vacation homes are not created equal, but you will rest easily knowing your first and potentially most important vacation decision was the perfect one! Our homes in North Lake Tahoe cover an expanse of some of the most scenic landscapes, ensuring the views from your deck will be exquisite ones, but these special structures offer more than simply great locations. Walk into spaces that welcome you with their warmth, amaze you with their style, and coddle you with their comforts, and know that your vacation dream property has come true.
Choose a sanctuary on the beach and spend much of your time out on large decks, feeling the tranquility that accompanies lake life seep into your soul as you grill the catch of the day on provided grills, sip wine at sunset, or simply sit and contemplate what a great decision you made choosing Tahoe Signature Properties. When you wander back inside again, perhaps you will answer the call of the nap, stretching out on plush sofas for that luxury you do not often get to enjoy at home. Maybe the big game will be on, and the state-of-the-art televisions will be used for the first time during your stay; there is so much to do and see in the North Lake Tahoe area, you may not have much time or inclination to watch TV, but it is always nice to see that it is an option!
Finally, every night when the landscape outside your escape is bathed in the cool light of the moon, retreating to the comfort of our bedrooms promises to be one of the most loved experiences of your entire vacation. Slip between silky soft linens, rest your head on soft pillows, and fall into the deep sleep you remember from your childhood! Being an adult often means that you are tired and sleep-deprived, but not when you choose Tahoe Signature Properties for the roof over your head!
Living Easy in Lake Tahoe in Summer
One of the very best parts of summer in Tahoe is learning that it rarely gets very hot during this season. Yes, the temperatures occasionally surprise us, but generally they stay in a range that is comfortable, yet still warm enough to enjoy water sports, which brings us to our first summer adventure: beach time at Lake Tahoe! That huge and gorgeous body of water is not just for looking at, it provides a plethora of ways to make memories in the summertime. Spend some time at Kings Beach State Recreation Area, building sandcastles at shore’s edge and playing on the playground with your youngsters, or back your boat off the public boat ramp which is open from 9AM until 5 PM daily and spend your time exploring the adventures the lake has to offer! North Tahoe Watersports Inc in Kings Beach offers everything you need for a day on the lake, including SUP gear, canoes, jet skis, and private boats. Daredevils may want to sign up for a parasailing flight and enjoy the opportunity to explore from the sky; a photo package can be added to the cost of your flight, ensuring you have pictorial proof of your bravery to show all your friends and family back home!
Golfing is a popular outdoor activity in Lake Tahoe in summer, and whether you are staying in one of our Kings Beach sanctuaries or are just here for some extracurricular fun, Old Brockway Golf Course is a local 9-hole course that was once where Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Joe Kennedy used to love to play; if you listen closely, you may even hear the echoes of their laughter as you tee up and swing for the stars!
Finally, because summer has always been the season of Shakespeare, a short drive over state lines will bring you the ultimate in theatrical experiences, the opportunity to enjoy a Shakespeare under blue skies! July and August (July 17th through August 22 in 2021; dates may vary if you are reading this far into the future!) is when the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival comes to the Warren Edward Trepp Stage in Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. Some of California’s and Nevada’s most talented performers bring the past alive as they act out the stories told hundreds of years ago, and your summer vacation to Tahoe will not be complete unless you experience at least one of their shows!
Fall in Love with Fall
For the winter sports lovers who visit Tahoe, fall is just a warm up for the starring act, but we know that this season is perhaps one of the area’s most spectacular seasons! Now is when you can bring out the sweaters you purchased when the temperatures were still slightly below sweltering, and the crisp air, the smell of fireplaces being used for the first time, and the sight of trees dressed in their autumn finest will be all the proof you need when you choose to visit North Lake Tahoe in the fall! Obviously, you will want to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying the beauty of this wonderful season, so hiking is often the most popular option for visitors. The Tahoe East Shore Trail, located in nearby Incline Village Nevada, is an easy to moderate trail that was formerly known as the Incline to Sand Harbor Bike Path; it is still a great path for biking as well! Leashed dogs are allowed on this trail, so be prepared to fall in love with some of the cutest fur babies, and if you like to learn while you burn calories, a series of signs along the trail will tell you everything you need to know about the plants and wildlife in the area!
For those who like a prize at the end of their travails, the North Lake Tahoe Ale Trail is something you should definitely check out. Offering trails through the countryside with breathtaking views of the lake and the glorious colors of the trees along the way, the prize at the end of these trails is a frosty mug of beer gulped down in a variety of different watering holes! A map to the Ale Trail can be found at the bottom of the page listed here. The chances of finding a pumpkin spiced ale are remarkably high in the fall, but if pumpkin is not your favorite, do not worry; there will be lots of other beers from which to choose!
Real life can be stressful, and if you find yourself needing some peace and tranquility during your getaway, The Sanctuary, located at 205 Stateline Road in Kings Beach, will give you both! Offering yoga classes as well as massage, acupuncture, and general wellness sessions, the Sanctuary is where we go when we need to find our peace, and we think it will be one of the most memorable parts of your North Lake Tahoe fall escape.
Working Up an Appetite
As you jet ski over Lake Tahoe in summer, hike through the crimson leaves of fall, and just relax in the comforts of your Tahoe Signature Properties vacation escape, one thing will become crystal clear: All the activities you participate in will make you hungry, and fortunately, North Lake Tahoe has plenty of places designed to match the largest of appetites! Jason’s Beachside Grille in Kings Beach is famous for their extensive menu filled with all-American favorites and their lakeside patio seating offering views that will speak to your soul!
The cooler weather of your fall getaway will have you craving dishes that are rich and hearty, and Lanza’s Restaurant, also in Kings Beach, never fails to please. Dig into a large plate of lasagna created with meatballs, sauce, and a blend of gooey cheeses, split a Lanza’s Combo pizza with the family, and whatever else you decide to gorge yourself on, do not forget to save room for their out of this world tiramisu! Made in the traditional style with espresso-soaked lady fingers with mascarpone and chocolate, this dessert is one you will not want to share!
Gar Woods Grill & Pier is another lakeside delight, one that features a menu filled with unique dishes, including Lobster Deviled Eggs (on the starter menu), Dungeness Crab Sandwiches, and a thick and juicy filet mignon that will make your taste buds stand up and cheer. Every bite of every dish promises to be the one you never forget when you stop in Gar Woods in Carnelian Bay.
