fine dining north lake tahoe

Looking to treat yourself to an upscale dining experience here in Truckee? Trokay is here to provide! This high-class, fine dining in North Lake Tahoe restaurant will add more than a touch of elegance to your North Lake Tahoe getaway.

Fine Dining in Lake Tahoe

Indulge in a fine dining in Lake Tahoe dinner at Trokay, with its wide selection of dinner options. For your first time there, you may wish to order a Prix Fixe for the entire table. The Prix Fixe offers you a choice of sweet corn bisque or a roasted summer vegetable salad; a choice of Chilean seabass ceviche, Maryland soft shell crab tempura, or green curried ”Beluga” lentils; a choice of wild Alaskan halibut, angus beef tenderloin, or sweet corn hushpuppies; and for dessert, a choice of caramel apple “Mille-Feuille” or a Valrhona grand cru chocolate.

Dessert

There are quite a few choices for your meal’s happily ever after. Chocolate lovers can go for the Valrhona grand cru chocolate with cherry and almond. Fruit lovers can take their pick from a blackberry pavlova with kiwi and white fir, a strawberry confit with black pepper ice cream and coriander, or a caramel apple “Mille-Feuille” with brown butter ice cream and an oat crumble. And don’t forget to pair your choice with a dessert wine!

Happy Hour

Trokay offers a Happy Hour on Fridays to Tuesdays in the bar only from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Get half off of glasses of wine, and pair your drink with a cheese plate special.

Surcharge

All bills at this fine dining in North Lake Tahoe restaurant come with a 3% surcharge, to better meet the rising minimum wages and costs of living for employees and to improve compensation for non-tipped employees such as kitchen staff. And while the restaurant could simply raise its prices, Trokay argues that lacks full transparency as to why prices are raised and that is why it has instead chosen to go with the surcharge instead.

Cooking Classes

Trokay doesn’t offer just food but learning opportunities as well, with classes available for all ages and skill levels. Learn to make pasta from scratch, how to roast meat, how to source seafood, or how to wield a knife as if you were a pro chef. Or just take the kitchen ins-and-outs class that’s suitable for everyone ages 8 and up (which makes it perfect as a family experience). Each class runs for two hours, ending with you devouring your classwork.

You’ll find Trokay at 10046 Donner Pass Road. The restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m. on Fridays to Tuesdays and is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can make your reservations at (530)-582-1040.
