When packing for your vacation to Lake Tahoe or Truckee, focus on comfortable clothing and activewear. You want to be prepared for all the fun activities and exploring that the area has to offer! Most businesses and restaurants around here expect casual attire from patrons.
Whether you’re visiting in summer or winter, don’t forget these essentials:
- Sunglasses, the sun is strong in the mountains and eyewear is a must.
- Sunscreen, even short stays will get you burned so better be safe than sorry.
- Pack comfortable shoes if you plan on going on long hikes and walks.
- Make sure you bring a warm jacket or vest in the summer, temperatures are much lower at night so you’ll want to cover up if staying out after the sun goes down.
Additionally, if you’re visiting in the winter months, you may need additional gear to stay safe and warm. Check out our list of the best Winter Equipment Rentals to get prepared.
Lake Tahoe and Truckee are very laid back, it’s all about being active and comfortable while doing it so it you feel that your luggage looks like a gym bag don’t worry, for the most part that’s all you need, especially when exploring. A few nicer pieces will suffice for the times when going to dinner.
