A dog in the water near the lake

When you are planning your next getaway to North Lake Tahoe, do not forget to bring your furry friends with you. During your stay at one of Tahoe Signature Properties’ Pet-Friendly Vacation Rentals, you will find numerous fun Summer Things To Do that your furry friend will enjoy as much as you! Here are some of the best dog-friendly activities and attractions around North Lake Tahoe.

Lake Tahoe Dog-Friendly Activities at Skylandia State Park & Beach

There are so many Great Beaches in Lake Tahoe, but if you’re looking for one that is often overlooked and less crowded that others, make sure you visit Skylandia State Park & Beach. This amazing beach allows dogs to run free in permitted areas of the park. While dogs must remain on a leash, there is plenty of room for you and your furry friend to run along the water having a blast. Doggy waste bags and baskets are available to help keep the area clean for everyone to enjoy.

Carnelian West Beach

You can bring your dog along for a fantastic day outside to Carnelian West Beach. It is easy to get to Carnelian West Beach by land or sea with a free parking facility and boating buoy nearby. Picnic tables and public restrooms are located on the beach, letting you spend a day enjoying the great outdoors. If you get a little hungry and didn’t bring anything to eat, you can grab a bite at Gar Woods Restaurant nearby.

Take Them on the Water

Local businesses rent out rafts in the summer for the visitors who prefer a little adventure during their stay. Many businesses will count your dogs as regular passengers, letting you bring them along for the ride. This is a great activity for your dog if they are accustomed to water and love to look down at all of the fish. Truckee River Raft Co., located nearby, can assist with any questions regarding having your pup come along for a raft ride. If a raft is not your style, them check out the canoes at Jackson Rec Kayaks. Since most kayaks are too small, they are not usually recommended for your furry friend. Jackson Rec, however, provides canoes that are large enough to hold most dogs, making this a fun experience for you and your best buddy!
