lake tahoe summer events

Summer solstice is a special event because it marks the advent of the most anticipated time of the year. Summer for many people means vacations, fun, free time, pursuing hobbies, and generally spending more time outdoors. Tahoe City takes this opportunity to celebrate the summer solstice, bring people together to enjoy lots of fun activities, and raise money for charity, all in one. That multi-purpose event is the City Solstice Festival. The four-day event starts on June 13th and wraps up on June 16th, 2019.

Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show

A free event that is open for everyone who loves classic cars, the car show is organized by The Kiwanis Club of North Lake Tahoe. And since it’s free to register, you can expect plenty of classic and vintage cars to stroll down Tahoe City streets. Judging by past events, this popular show draws all kinds of cars, from hot rods, muscle cars, and sports cars to antiques and vintage cars. They are the pride and joy of their respective owners and they are always well maintained and in a good condition.

Tahoe City Wine Walk at Solstice Festival

Taking place on June 15th, 2019, the Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic is one of the most anticipated Lake Tahoe summer events. This year the festival celebrates its 14th anniversary. Head over to North Lake Boulevard in downtown Tahoe City where the views of the lake are magical. Between 1 and 5 pm, you get to sample many of the fine wines of the local breweries and enjoy gourmet food prepared by the best-known chefs in Lake Tahoe. This year many restaurants and catering companies are participating in the festival which means the menu will be as varied and delicious as we all hope it would be.

Concert at Commons Beach

These series of events start on June 16th, the last day of City Solstice Festival, and go until September 1st, 2019. That’s about 12 weeks of non-stop music that covers many genres. From bluegrass and Southern rock to alternative rock and afro-samba-funk. And while the lineup for this year isn’t out yet, past lineups have featured some of the hottest names in the music world. Names like Sambada, Gene Evaro Jr., Mumbo Gumbo, Midtown Social, Joy & Madness, and many others have performed here to the delight of their fans.
