Trip to Lake Tahoe

Life on the road is exciting as you take the time to see the attractions that are unique to the small towns you cross through along the way. Enjoy a taste of the nation one dinner break at a time, and pull off to enjoy the scenic spots that are indicated on the road signs that are flying past. Using public restrooms, however, and sleeping on a different bed (some comfortable, some devices of torture you would rather forget!) can certainly make you glad that you have reached your spring vacation destination and for the moment, your nomadic roaming’s are complete. Especially when the X marks the spot of your arrival to the wonders of Lake Tahoe and the luxuries and comforts of our Tahoe Signature Properties seasonal sanctuaries! Parking the car that has served you well over the miles in its assigned location, breathing in the cool, almost wintry mountain air, and opening the door to the vacation accommodations you chose to make your own for the first time is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and this guide to the fun you can have during your spring trip to Lake Tahoe will keep thoughts of the returning road trip at bay!

Winter’s Last Hurrah

Your journey has been a fun one, but after being cooped up for however many days, it is definitely time to get outside and enjoy that clean mountain air and although the calendar pages may indicate that it still spring, the temperatures may make you think of winter! And if your Tahoe getaway takes place in the early weeks of spring (March 21 through April 17th) you will still have the time to enjoy one last blast of winter as Northstar California Resort is not scheduled to end its ski season until approximately April 17th! Spend your days schussing down the slopes and your evenings enjoying après ski at some of our favorite spots, including Petra Wine Bar located at 3001 N Village Drive Suite 3112. Offering tasty tapas and wine flights in warm and cozy environs, if you aren’t too cold from your snow day, an outdoor fire pit adds a romantic touch to the entire experience! Another popular après ski experience in Lake Tahoe has nothing to do with wine or tapas or even relaxation! Ice skating in the Northstar rink tucked away at the base of the mountain is one of our favorite ways to end the day. This open air rink is as romantic for couples as it is exciting and fun for children and the build your own s’mores kits sold by local vendors add a sweet taste to the entire activity! Opening each day at 4 PM and closing again at 8 PM, the mountains and trees of Tahoe stand guard in the background as warmly dressed skaters glide round and round and sparkling hanging lights add magic to the scene once the sun sets for the day.
