Snowfest!

Since 1982, North Lake Tahoe lights up the town with 10 days and nights of fun activities for all ages. Snowfest is the Mardi Gras event for all of Lake Tahoe and continues to be a local favorite. Activities scheduled for this year’s celebration include a cornhole tournament, ski race, dog pull race, and snow sculpture contest. These activities are hosted all around the town, so you can check out all of the local spots at one time. This year’s Snowfest will take place from February 28ththrough March 10th.

Dummy Downhill

One of the most hilarious events going on in Lake Tahoe each year is the annual Dummy Downhill race. Participants create a dummy on skis that will be launched off a ramp with a jump for all to see. This all-ages event has participants starting at 10:00 am where their dummies are judged for creativity. Before the big jump and the dummies meet their planned end, you can see them in the Wacky Costume Contest. This year’s Dummy Downhill will take place on March 24th at Diamond Peak.

WinterWonderGrass Tahoe Festival

Lake Tahoe has some of the biggest bluegrass music fans in the state, and they always look forward to the WinterWonderGrass Tahoe Festival each year: it is one of the most anticipated Lake Tahoe upcoming events! This three-day event showcases some of the best bluegrass artists in the industry across four separate stages. Not only will you enjoy great music but some of the best craft beer from local California and Nevada breweries. Check out this year’s WinterWonderGrass Tahoe Festival at Squaw Valley from March 29th through the 31st.

Winter Wildlife Survival Snowshoe Trek

Join the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science as they snowshoe around Mt. Rose for an exciting event. The Winter Wildlife Survival Snowshoe Trek will take you up an estimated 8,900 feet for a rigorous yet enjoyable snowshoe trek. Enjoy this outdoor adventure on April 5that 10:00 am at the Mt. Rose Summit Trailhead.
