There are many ways to take advantage of beautiful area that surrounds Lake Tahoe. For many people, the preferred method for exploring it is running. With running, you get a great workout while enjoying the beauty that the world puts in front of you. The greatest celebration of this activity that you will find anywhere is the Lake Tahoe Marathon, taking place from October 12th through the 14thin 2018.
A Beautiful Experience in the Lake Tahoe Marathon
The event is three days because there is just too much to love about Lake Tahoe that you just cannot fully appreciate in one day. But it is not like you have to run constantly for three days. Throughout the celebration, there are multiple different events, so there is something for everyone to love. There are over 20 different races starting on Friday at 6:00 am with the Cal Neva Marathon, which is a 26-mile jaunt from Sand Harbor, NV to Homewood, CA. The day continues at 8:30 am with the Carnelian Bay Half Marathon. The day finishes with the Historic Fun Run to Nevada Beach, which provides fun for the whole family, along with some amazing beauty.
The fun continues on Saturday with a half marathon, a full marathon, and a 72-mile ultra-marathon. The ultra-marathon provides one of the most beautiful courses you will find in the world as it goes around the entire lake. If you do not feel up to a 72-mile experience, you can opt-in for the four-person relay ultra-marathon beginning at midnight.
Then comes Sunday, which is dedicated to fun rather than intense competition. You will find opportunities to partake in a 10k, 5k, half marathons, and full marathons. This also marks the opening of the beer garden which allows everyone to get together in this beautiful place. This is the perfect day for bringing the whole family!
