One of the locals’ favorite bars on Lake Tahoe is Turn 3, a super fun NASCAR-themed dive bar with pool tables, televised sports, Saturday afternoon bingo games with hilarious prizes, and the friendliest staff in town. Though the bar serves only popcorn and peanuts (you can throw your shells on the floor), there’s a pizza place right across the road that will deliver to the bar.

On the opposite end of the spectrum from Turn 3 is Gar Woods, the most upscale of the Lake Tahoe bars on the northern shore. You can pull right up to their long pier in your Boat or Kayak. The pier and its surrounding view are so romantic that weddings on it are not unusual. Featuring live music on Friday and Saturday nights, $7 Wet Woody Wednesdays, and an excellent lunch and dinner menu, Gar Woods Grill and Pier is your first-class ticket to fun, food, and romance.
