Featuring absolutely breathtaking scenery and a wealth of outdoor activities right at your fingertips, we can’t say that we blame you for wanting to do everything you can to see everything the area has to offer! Today, we want to highlight three of the best ways for getting around north Lake Tahoe area and maximizing your time the next time you stay with us.

Take the TART

One of the most efficient ways to get around the North Lake Tahoe area is to use the Tahoe Area Regional Transit system, better known as the TART! TART features a number of different bus routes on Lake Tahoe’s northern and western shores between Tahoma and Incline Village, as well as five different daily shuttles from Truckee to Tahoe City. One of the biggest advantages of using the TART system is the amount of money that you save, as a 10-day pass will only cost you $14! Buses typically run from 6 AM to 7 PM and will run every 30 minutes.

Rent a Car

We know this one seems pretty obvious, but it has to be said because of just how big the Lake Tahoe area really is! If you truly want to explore on your own schedule and see everything that the area has to offer, then having your own set of wheels may just be the best method of transportation in North Lake Tahoe. If this is the route you decide to take, we highly recommend taking a ride along Highway 89, as this is a 72-mile-long road that runs all the way around Lake Tahoe. Sure, it may not be the most environmentally conscious plan, and you’ll have to spend some money on gas, but trust us: With the breathtaking views you’ll be able to experience, it will be well worth it!

By Foot/Bike

At the end of the day, if you want to truly get out and explore the great outdoors (and trust us when we say Lake Tahoe has plenty of it to go around!), sometimes the best way to do it is with your own two feet! With miles of sprawling trails throughout the entire area and lakeside beaches right at your fingertips, you won’t regret getting out and stretching your legs!

No matter how you choose to explore the North Lake Tahoe area, one thing’s for certain: You won’t be disappointed. North Lake Tahoe is filled with an incredible amount of natural beauty that just begs to be explored, so whether it be by TART, car, bike, or on foot, make sure you book the best Tahoe vacation rental cabin and see it for yourself!
