Have you been searching for the perfect Mother’s Day Gift?
If you are the planning type, the idea has crossed your mind, what should you get your mom, wife, and/or partner for Mother’s Day? Well, after the year we’ve had, with homeschooling, working from home, and trying to juggle so much, this year more than ever, she deserves to be treated. Now hold on a minute, I’m not implying this has been easy for the other half, your special day is coming too, so tune in later for that post☺️.
Book Her a Trip
There is nothing more I would love to do after a year of isolation, in fact, this year I’m the lucky one, we’re headed to Maui, can you tell I’m excited🎉, the islands have been calling my name for a while. Book a vacation home and give your wife/partner a break for the weekend, where she does whatever she wants, if she’s like me, she’ll end up catching up on sleep, and that book that she just can’t get to. Have some family friends you enjoy spending time with? Make plans to send them on a girls’ getaway, book a vacation home for the weekend, and voila, you’re winning at “year’s best partner”.
Book a Spa Treatment
A spa day, where you get to relax and take advantage of the treatments available at the spa sounds divine. If an entire day isn’t an option, send her to get her nails done, or on a lunch date with a friend or a group of friends. It’s so nice when someone else does the planning for you.
Give Her The Day OFF
For the moms with young children, this will probably be the most appreciated gesture. I would so love a chair, my favorite book, and to lounge on a dock on Donner Lake or by the Truckee River for some alone time.
But whatever you do, just remember to celebrate your mother and or partner as this is the most rewarding and the hardest job in the world.
Here at Tahoe Signature Properties, our commitment is to our guests, we implement the following to make sure your stay is relaxing and worry-free!
Have you made plans to visit Lake Tahoe or Truckee this winter, and are worried about what’s there to do, when mother nature doesn’t seem to cooperate?
Don’t fret, there is plenty to see and visit, of course most resorts are making snow so you can get in a few good runs between 11 AM and 1-2PM. But what if you have children and people in your group that don’t ski?
My parents visited this past month and I was worried about the Tahoe activities, here’s some areas we visited and being that I have a 3 years old, everything had to be toddler friendly :).
We love The Historic Downtown Truckee, little gift shops, Tahoe Oils, The Book Store, Cooking Gallery and the restaurants, please make sure you take a few hours and visit the stores and maybe have lunch or dinner, I never go home empty-handed :).
The Squaw Valley Aerial Tram was another adventure we embarked on, you can spend a whole afternoon up there, breathtaking sights and a few restaurants up top, have lunch, take pictures, enjoy the scenery.
Visit Emerald Bay and do a drive around the lake, we love taking a day ones a year, or twice. Stop by Tahoe House Bakery first, to get a good cup of coffee and some of the most amazing treats and head out to Emerald Bay. Our next stop would be South Lake Tahoe for lunch and at Heavenly, you can take the gondola up to some of the most amazing sights of Lake Tahoe and Sierra Mountains.
Take advantage of the Rec Centers, in Truckee there is Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District with a brand new swimming pool, Tahoe Donner has a beautiful Trout Creek Rec Center, Old Greenwood and Schaffer’s Mill have some amazing amenities, so check out the place you’ll be staying at to make sure amenities are available or use the public local amenities.
Spend a day in the Village. Both Northstar and Squaw Valley villages are vibrant and full of activities, go ice-skating, enjoy a drink by the fireplace, have lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants or just read a book by the fire.
And if you have little ones and can’t seem to come up with ideas to burn off some of that energy, KidZone Museum is one of our favorites, there is so much stuff in there to do and explore.
Feel free to reach out with any questions and we hope your vacation is a memorable one, despite the snow conditions.
