Cruise Along the Waters of Lake Tahoe
Whether it’s for a special event or simply for a sightseeing pleasure cruise, chartering a yacht is a fantastic way to experience the awesome beauty of Lake Tahoe.
Envision gliding along the crystalline waters of the most expansive alpine lake in all of North America, absorbing the scent of the fresh mountain air and the picturesque landscape of towering pines and stark mountain peaks as you traverse this extraordinary locale. Even better, this scene can set the mood for once-in-a-lifetime events, such as weddings.
Once you’ve decided you want to charter a yacht, the question becomes, “Where should I go to find one?” Well, Lake Tahoe has plenty of options for you, largely depending on which shore of Lake Tahoe you’re staying on.
On the southern shore of the lake, you’ll find charter agencies like Lake Tahoe Boat Rides and the Tahoe Keys Marina & Yacht Club. Lake Tahoe Boat Rides provides several different options for your yacht charter, from sightseeing cruises during the day and at sunset to half-day tour packages. The company allows you to choose your boat and time slot or simply rent out their twenty-passenger yacht for $400.00 to $600.00 per hour. At the Tahoe Keys Marina & Yacht Club, there are charter services like South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club and Windjammers Yacht Club located on site.
In North Lake Tahoe, North Tahoe Cruises will have your yachting needs covered. Based out of Tahoe City, this charter company not only gives you the option of renting out their one hundred and twenty-passenger yacht, the Tahoe Gal, but also provides customers with the ability to rent out the Commodore’s Salon (which can hold thirty passengers) during a regularly scheduled cruise, as opposed to renting the entire ship. However, renting the Tahoe Gal at a price of $1,400.00 per hour, with a minimum of two hours, comes with the added bonus of a catering menu. Alternatively, you can charter a three-hour dinner cruise for $70.00 per person, without the hourly rate.
For yachts with a capacity of more than 6 people, the majority of charters will include a licensed Coast Guard Crew.
