Marinas

Whether you’d like to enjoy a quiet retreat at a marina resort or interested in spending an adrenaline-full day on the lake, one of Lake Tahoe’s 14 marinas will fit your needs. These marinas are a valuable source of Lake Tahoe boating information, in addition to providing an array of services and rentals.

What You’ll Find at Lake Tahoe’s Marinas

If you’re spending time in North Lake Tahoe, North Tahoe Marina and Tahoe City Marina are within convenient reach. North Tahoe Marina offers everything from OEM parts, boat service, and repair, to boat storage and sales. Tahoe City Marina not only offers boat storage and services like snow removal and warehouse transportation, but also offers boat rentals, slip rentals, and buoy rentals as well.

Boats available for rent at Tahoe City Marina are 20 to 23 feet long, with options for sailboats or motorboats. Each vessel undergoes U.S. Coast Guard safety checks and includes GPS locators, a two-way marine radio, and hook-ups for MP3 players and iPods. Rentals for boat-related items, such as tubes, wakeboards, water skis, wet suits, life jackets, and tow ropes, can be purchased at Tahoe Marine Supply next to Tahoe City Marina. Rental rates for boats start at $100.00 plus the cost of fuel, while water toy rentals from Tahoe Marine Supply cost between $10.00 and $45.00.

On the western shore, you’ll encounter Homewood High & Dry Marina. While Homewood does not offer its own onsite rentals, it does house several rental companies. Here, you’ll find High Sierra Water Ski School, which specializes in water ski, wakeboard, and wakesurf lessons, as well as SWA Watersports, which provides services ranging from boat and jet ski rentals to private charters, fishing charters, and lessons in water sports.

Lake Tahoe’s southern shore holds Camp Richardson Marina, which has a rental selection that includes boats, buoys, jet skis, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, pedal boats, and even lounge chairs. Boat rentals range from $298.00 for two hours on an 18-foot Bowrider to about $1,700 for a full day on a 28-foot Cobalt. Camp Richardson Marina also offers rum runner cruises to Emerald Bay, as well as water taxi services, a fuel dock, pump-out facilities, ice, and beer.
